Meet the team

“I was curious about the expert network industry and the opportunity to work in a multinational environment. IDR has given me plenty of new challenges, broader legal responsibilities and the chance to work across different jurisdictions.”

What attracted you to IDR?

I was curious about the industry and IDR’s proposition. Expert sourcing is such a unique model – it’s not something you encounter every day, especially here in the Philippines. I was curious about how it works and the role it plays in helping clients access specialized expertise. I also wanted to move from a law firm environment into a multinational corporate setting. At IDR, I’m exposed not just to how the company operates in the Philippines, but also how it runs in different jurisdictions, which is a big learning opportunity for me as a lawyer.

02

How has your role evolved since you joined IDR?

Since April my role has expanded significantly. I’ve become involved in more complex cases and a much wider range of legal and business matters. I now review contracts from multiple jurisdictions and work closely with teams like compliance, sales and finance. My supervisor has entrusted me with more responsibility over time. I’ve already handled almost 200 contracts.

03

What’s a project or achievement at IDR that you’re particularly proud of?

It’s been helping launch our first employee handbook in the Philippines, which involved working closely with the HR team and ensuring all relevant legal frameworks were included and accurate.

Beyond those larger projects, I’m proud of the daily contract negotiations I handle. It’s rewarding to negotiate terms that provide a positive business outcome for all parties involved.

04

What has been your favorite part of working at IDR?

I would say it’s definitely the people. Before joining IDR, I’d only worked with Filipino colleagues, so joining a multinational company has been a completely new experience. I work with people from different parts of the world and with very different legal and cultural backgrounds. It’s been fascinating to learn from their perspectives and see how everyone brings something unique to the company, whether that’s knowledge of their jurisdiction or their professional experience. I’ve especially learned a lot from my supervisor, who’s based in the U.S. The diversity of the team makes the work much more enriching.

05

What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining IDR?

I’d say IDR is a great place to work, especially if you’re looking to grow with a company that has a lot of potential. You’ll be surrounded by hardworking people who genuinely contribute to that growth.

For lawyers, it’s an excellent environment if you’re interested in corporate work. You’re not limited to Philippine law – you’re exposed to legal and business matters involving the UK, US, Mexico and more. You learn from colleagues of different nationalities and backgrounds, so your development goes beyond the job description. The work is rewarding and meaningful, with plenty of new challenges and room to grow alongside the company.
