Meet the team

“I wanted to take on more ownership and have a bigger impact, and IDR has given me the freedom to do that. I’ve been able to explore different areas of marketing, learn quickly and shape new ideas as the company grows.”

What attracted you to IDR?

It was the opportunity to take the experience I’d built in an agency environment and bring that into a larger international business where I could have a bigger impact.

I’ve spent a few years working across lead generation, paid campaigns, outbound, content and B2B growth initiatives. And working for multiple clients exposed me to a range of industries and marketing campaigns. I wanted to take that experience somewhere where I could develop my industry knowledge for one client and work on a set of marketing programs that were more in-depth with me managing them end-to-end.

The scale of IDR was also attractive to me. You’ve got an international presence, teams across different markets and a global customer base, so there’s a lot more scope to build and grow.

The industry is also really interesting; as information becomes easier to access, having access to genuine human expertise and firsthand experience becomes more valuable. IDR is operating right in that space, and I liked the idea of joining a company that was growing in an industry with that kind of potential.

How has your role evolved since you joined IDR?

I’ve been at IDR for about six months now, and I think the biggest change has been going from being mainly execution focused to becoming much more involved in the planning and thinking behind what we’re doing.

When I first joined, I was focused on getting campaigns out, supporting demand generation and executing the things that were already planned. But over the last three months I’ve become involved in a much wider range of things across events, digital marketing, content, social media, CRM and campaign planning.

I’m also much more involved in strategic marketing conversations around why we’re doing something and how we’re going to measure it for commercial impact.

My manager is very keen for me to understand the thinking behind the work rather than simply deliver a task. That’s been really valuable for me because I can apply the experience I already have, but at the same time learn how the wider business works and how marketing connects with sales and the rest of the organization.

So, I’d say the biggest evolution has been moving from “Here’s the campaign, go and execute it,” towards being part of the conversation around planning the campaign in the first place.

What’s a project or achievement at IDR that you’re particularly proud of?

It was hosting IDR’s first ever webinar. There was quite a lot involved beyond just organizing the webinar itself.

For me, it was a good opportunity to take ownership of something from the initial planning through to execution, rather than just being responsible for one part of it. And I was really pleased that everything came together and the event itself went smoothly.

I’m also proud of the work I’ve done around the in-person Quirks events in the UK and New York. The events gave me the opportunity to work across international teams and get involved in the planning and delivery of events in different markets.

Another thing I’m proud of is the work I’ve been doing around HubSpot and the website. One of the first things I was looking at was how we tag inbound leads, how we classify them, when they should be passed on to sales and how we can get the basics of that process working properly.

04

What has been your favorite part of working at IDR?

The freedom to try different things.

There are lots of different areas I’ve been able to get involved in, and I’ve enjoyed having the freedom to experiment rather than feeling like there’s only one way of doing things.

But equally, it’s the people. We’re a close-knit team and I get along really well with everyone which makes a big difference when you’re working on lots of different projects at the same time.

I’ve also really enjoyed learning more about the expert network industry itself. When I joined, it was a market I didn’t know particularly well, and six months later I have a much better understanding of how it works and why access to genuine human expertise is becoming increasingly important.

05

What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining IDR?

I’d say it’s an interesting time to join because both the industry and the company are growing.

The company has recently been recognized on the 2026 Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest growing private companies. So, there’s clearly a lot of momentum behind the business.

But I think the other thing I’d say is that you have a lot of opportunities here. If you’re proactive and want to learn, there’s scope to get involved in things outside of your immediate job description.

Personally, I’ve had the opportunity to work across events, campaigns, content, SEO, social, CRM and web development alongside the engineering team, and I’ve also had exposure to senior leadership and different parts of the business.

The leadership team is also very approachable. I’ve had the opportunity to work quite closely with one of the CEOs, which I think says something about the level of access and collaboration that’s possible in a growing company like this.

If you want somewhere where you can learn quickly, take ownership, work with good people and have the opportunity to shape things as the company grows, I’d definitely recommend considering IDR.
